Chapter 6

Over the next couple weeks I had gotten into a routine. Fighting demons by night, sleeping till mid afternoon, then knowing that Seth spent time after work on his deck, winding down, usually having a beer, I took up jogging past his house. I loved being on the beach, near the ocean, and the jogging helped me retain my endurance. I also wanted to make sure I kept up his curiosity and to eventually establish a relationship. Going over things in my head, I knew that Seth had a big stunt coming up soon involving skydiving. Caitlyn got a job on the shoot. Nothing like having connections, and she would be covering the female's part in the stunt.

Seth had just gotten home. "Man, I'm tired,” he thought. Seems like all he did was jump out of buildings and land on air bags. His whole body hurt. Seth went into the bathroom to take a hot shower. Afterwards he grabbed a beer and went out onto his deck to enjoy the sunset. He had been sitting there about five minutes when he noticed a lone woman jogging down the beach.

Even from a distance he could tell she was good looking. Athletic build, not supermodel skinny. If he wasn't so tired, he'd get up and try to talk to her, so he just sat there and admired. Seth didn't recall seeing her before, maybe either just moved in or was staying with someone.

As she passed by his house he felt a warm sensation on his chest. It was right where the cross was resting. He had worn the cross everyday since that woman had given it to him that night, but this was the first time he had felt the warmth. The feeling faded as the woman disappeared down the beach. Seth thought it was just a coincidence.

Opening up another beer, Seth headed out towards the water, walking slowly, enjoying the feel of the warm sand under his feet. He stood at the water's edge, listening to the ocean, letting it calm his soul. All of sudden he could feel the warmth again. Glancing around he saw that the woman jogger had just passed him. By the time he had gathered his wits, she was too far to catch her. He would see if he could find her. It was now too much of a coincidence that that wasn't the same woman who had rescued him.

Caitlyn made it back to her own house. I had felt the warmth too. It would all happen soon. As I went up the steps from the beach to the deck, I was startled by a person lounging on one of her deck chairs, having helped themselves to some refreshments.

"Shelia," I said, leaning a hip on the railing, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Caitlyn," Shelia replied coolly, taking a sip of the drink she had made.

"What have you been up to? Haven't seen you in awhile," I asked, trying to seem disinterested.

"Just out kicking demon ass, as usual," Shelia replied, standing up. Shelia was taller than me and I am not a short person, about 5'11 to my 5'8. I straightened up and the two of us stood facing each other. Finally the two of us broke into smiles, hugging.

"God, I've missed you Shelia."

"I've missed you, too," Shelia said, giving me a bear hug, which she was good at. Shelia thrived on physical fighting, usually heads taller that any demon. One good punch usually just broke there necks. Me. I am a weapons person, not caring to get all that close to the demons..........…

Taking Shelia's hand I led her back into the house. "Can you stay?" I asked.

"Sure I can stay and we can catch up on old times, but I am sure you surmised there is more to my visit," Shelia said.

"I knew it was coming, though I am glad they sent you."

"I was due some time off and I volunteered,"Shelia said, smiling.

"How long can you stay?" I asked, "I have a room you can use."

"I have till the end of the week, then we need to go see the counsel of three," Shelia said, stretching out on my couch. "So things have started?" she asked.

"It has come full circle. I rescued him a couple weeks ago, though I got hurt and Colin had him help me. I gave him the cross that night. It has been getting warm whenever we are near each other. I know he has been noticing it, too," I said.

Shelia nodded her head.

"I'm going to go get a drink of water. I'll be right back."

"No prob,": Shelia replied. Making my way back I plopped down in an oversized chair, propping my feet up on an ottoman.

"So...um..is Colin still with you?" Shelia asked, trying to be casual about it. I knew she had feelings for Colin, but she never told anyone. Through the centuries, I would sometimes catch her looking wistfully at him whenever the three of us were together.

"Yes, Colin and I are still together. He should be back in the next day or two. He is out of town following a particularly bad group," I said.

"I had heard about that. I was in Europe so I couldn't go. Would have loved to though," she said wistfully.

"Well, I hope you brought a bathing suit. Colin got bit by the surfing bug. When he is not fighting, sleeping or eating, he's surfing. Maybe he can teach you," I said, sort of trying to give her a hint of a way to spend time with Colin.

"Maybe," Shelia said. "What do you want to do tonight? Do you want to maybe go out to a club or something?"

"Sure, we can do that," I said, "let me show you to your room."

We went to The Whiskey, down on Sunset, the place where a lot of the heavy metal bands got started. The place usually had pretty good music. I really liked heavy metal music. The darkness and freakiness appealed to me. Sometimes I felt like a freak. I don't always want to be what I am. Shelia was in training when I was, but she was there because she wanted to be. It was like going to school for her. Both her parents were Watchers and they were both alive. Me, I lost my parents and I had no where else to go.

The three of us had been there together. I always did my job, but my heart was never in it. Maybe that's why I loved weapons. I could be farther away and never had to touch them much. Shelia liked the contact, the fighting, it helped her temper as she had a volitale personality, but very loyal to her friends. She just enjoyed kicking ass. Colin liked the fighting part, too, especially after a gazillion episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger. He was always trying some karate move. He was like a sponge when it came to TV and movies. He always made her laugh.

Chapter 5

Jon couldn't help but admire her, watching her walk ahead of him. She had the longest legs and they were encased in skin tight black breeches, which emphasized her derriere, not leaving much for the imagination. He just wanted to have those legs wrapped around him.

Little did Jon know he was going to get his wish, Caitlyn thought with a smile. Inside the cabin, Jon was very solicitous. He poured me a brandy which I was sipping on, as I moved about the room looking at his things. Jon sat in a chair watching her move about.

"Captain. Thank you for the help, but why?" Jon asked.

Cait said, "I overheard that scum plotting to attack you. I was after him anyway and I didn't like the odds against you. You could have probably handled the one ship, but with your load, not both. I waited till the idiot made his move. Besides, maybe someday I might need a favor."

Jon opened the cabin door, yelled, and a moment later a young boy showed up. Jon told him to have his cook prepare a tray. Caitlyn asked if the young man could deliver a note to Colin. The young man said he would so she penned a note to Colin, saying help where needed and then go back to their ship and wait for her. Jon asked, "What did you write?"

Cait smiled and said, "Just to help where needed and then to wait on the ship for me." I walked from the window towards Jon's bed. It was a bed built into the wall like a cubby but fairly large. I liked it because it was in the shadows and the darkness calmed my nerves. I crawled up, turned and sat with my back to the wall so I could see Jon and talk to him.

Jon still thought it was unusual for a woman to be a pirate and he wanted to know why she was, what circumstances got her to this point.

"Caitlyn. How did you become a pirate? It is an unusual occupation for a woman." Jon asked. He was staring into her eyes, he couldn't look away.

All of a sudden he felt this huge feeling of desire. Cait had a slight smile to her lips, her eyes all soft, lids lowered part way. Jon thought he could actually feel like he was being caressed. Still watching her eyes, as he couldn't look away, her smile faded and her eyes got a faraway look.

Softly I said, "My parents were traders who eventually got into shipping..some legal, some not so legal. They were captured and killed." Which was not so far from the truth.

Jon could feel her pain, like somehow he had become connected to her. She continued.

"I was hurt, lost, but mostly angry. I took over my fathers ship. I sometimes trade legitimately, sometimes like today, not."

Jon was about to ask another question when there was a knock. Opening the door, he found the cook there with their tray. Jon thanked the cook and shut the door carrying the tray to the table.

Jon walked back to the door and locked it to prevent any unwanted intrusions, stopping at the bed on the way back holding out his hand asking Cait to join him at the table. Cait took his hand and let him help her up, leading her to the table. There was meat, fruit, bread and Jon brought a bottle or wine.

I helped myself to a piece of fruit and a bit of meat. I wasn't very hungry and just sipped at the wine. Jon in between bites asked her about Colin. I told him I met him about the time my parents died. We had picked him up in a port as he was being mugged. We are friends and watch out for each other.

I was tired of the chit chat and wanted more. I stood up and moved to stand beside Jon's chair and took hold of Jon's wrist as he was about to put a piece of orange in his mouth. Gently, I pulled his hand to my mouth while at the same time straddling his lap sitting down. Eyes gazing into his, I took a slow, soft bite into the fruit letting the juices run down my chin. I reached for the rest of the slice. My lips sucking the fruit from his fingers, my teeth grazing his knuckles as he withdrew his fingers from my mouth. I leaned back licking the juice from my lips while exposing my chin and neck to his gaze, willing him to lean in and lick the juice. I smiled as I felt his hot lips against my neck his tongue licking his way to my chin.

Jon thought to himself, he had never met a more exciting, exotic woman. He was hard and he wanted her now. He licked the juices that ran along her chin, while unbuttoning her shirt, exposing her breasts. He kissed his way down her chest, latching onto one of her nipples, sucking and licking. She was on fire and moaning, arching against him.

After a moment Cait grabbed his hair pulling his head back so she could look at him and said softly, "Captain, it is time to pillage and plunder me."

He set her up as he stood up and said, "Captain, prepare to be boarded.”

The two of them proceeded to undress each other before tumbling onto the bed, each of them vying for dominance. Jon was kissing her mouth their tongues mingling, dancing. She wound her hands in his hair in order to hold him while kissing him hard. She kissed him everywhere, finally maneuvering him so he was under her...…

Jon had never made love to such an aggressive woman, but thought he was going to die when she took his member in her mouth. Jon almost came, the woman was sucking hard, then lightly scoring her teeth along his length. She was growling low in her throat. Jon decided it was his turn and took hold of her hair to get her attention and for a second she gave him this feral look, like a cat, her teeth bared and he wasn't sure she was going to cooperate. Instinctively he knew somehow he needed to be her equal in strength and dominance. So Jon crawled towards her on all fours, forcing her to lay down on her back. Jon took hold of her legs, opening them. "Now it's your turn.

He used his thumbs to open her and placed his mouth on her clit. As anticipated, her heels dug into the bed her hips coming up off the bed. Jon just placed his hands under her to hold her steady and sucked. He tasted her, running his tongue from her vagina slowly back to her clit, chewing on it lightly, giving as good as he got. Finally she screamed as she came, trembling. Jon continued to lightly lick her till she came down from her climax, relaxing and laying back down. He moved up between her legs, lying down on top of her, kissing her, sliding his tongue in her mouth letting her taste herself. She proceeded to suck her juices from his lips.

Jon finally sank into her. She was hot and wet. He was pounding into her hard. He could feel her hands all over him, her fingernails scoring my back, those wonderfully long legs wrapped around him. She was biting him, lightly. His arms, shoulders, wherever she could reach. Jon captured her lips and with one final thrust, they came, the both of them. Tense, trembling, shaking. When he finally came back back down to earth, panting and sweaty, he rolled to the side and pulled her close to him.

Caitlyn looked up into his eyes, while lightly stroking his hair and face, trying to memorize this time in her mind. Making love to him this time was so much more intense than the last. I wondered if it would be like that every time. Caitlyn rose and found a pitcher of water and wet a cloth and cleaned the two of them up, before laying back down in Jon's arms. She finally heard his steady, even breathing as he was sleeping. Carefully, quietly I rose and dressed, leaving my necklace with the cross on it, finding a small nail to hang it from above the bed. Caitlyn made it back to her ship and sailed out of his life for that lifetime.

Seth woke up suddenly. Man he had had the most incredible dream. He didn't know why he had dreamed he was a pirate, but he had made love to the most incredible woman. All of a sudden he could feel moisture and looked down. Fuck! He had cum on himself. He hadn't had a wet dream since he was thirteen. Huffing, he got up and went into the bathroom to clean up.

Caitlyn smiled to herself. She had hoped Seth enjoyed his trip down memory lane. Standing up, I brushed the sand from my butt and walked back to the house. All that dreaming made ME horny. Maybe I should invest in a couple of D batteries, I thought, laughing to myself.

Chapter 4

Caitlyn made it home, coincidentally about 5 houses down from her human. I loved the ocean. I shared the house with Colin, to whom I called out for, as I made my way into the house, but there was no answer. I looked at my watch. It was about 4 am. Well, either he wasn't back from the confrontation or he was surfing. I went to my room to change clothes. Leaving on my turtleneck, I took off my pants and boots, slipping on a pair of sweat pants. I padded barefoot out the back door and onto the sand. I walked towards the water.

Sitting down on the still warm sand, I stared out at the waves and the moon's reflection on the water. Reaching up I took the pins out of my hair, loving the feel of the wind in my hair. I wrapped my arms around my legs and rested my chin on my knees. I started to think back to when Seth was a merchantman, shipping goods from the Carolina’s to England and the Caribbean.

She and Colin, in order to watch over Seth, got into the pirate biz, mostly to take care of other pirates who were demons, keeping to the same routes as her human. Our shipmates were other watchers. She and Colin had pulled into the same port and had gone into a local pub, quietly sitting down at a table in the shadows, our backs to the wall, nursing a couple pints of ale.

She had been keeping an eye on a particularly scummy pirate. He captained two ships, one which he recently acquired, letting his first mate pilot the second ship. The idiot always talked too much when he drank.

As always, she knew when He was coming cause my heart started to beat faster. Sure enough Seth came through the door with his first mate. In this lifetime he was know as Jon. They sat at a table. They were happy about their transactions and were drinking and flirting with the waitress.

Caitlyn experienced a moment of jealousy, but could do nothing as it was not my time. She could hear the pirate conspire to attack her human for his merchandise. Having made their plans the pirates left.

It was a couple days out before the pirates attacked. There were two ships to his one, so I evened the odds, coming up behind the two pirate ships. That positioned them between me and my human. After about two hours, the pirate ships turned tale and ran, not having anticipated the second ship, cutting their losses.

Her human hailed my ship and invited her and the crew over. Of course we went. We talked, had dinner together and spent the night making beautiful love. She left after he fell asleep. That had been one of my more memorable times with him.
I sighed. As was her habit, normally I would have spent the night, but I knew this was the lifetime I would be with him. I could wait.

Seth was dreaming........ His ship was being attacked. It was shortly after dawn and he had spotted a ship coming at him quickly. He tried to outrun it, but with the hold of his ship filled with cargo, he was too slow. He prepared to fight. The other ship was getting closer when he saw the one ship become two. The other had been in the silhouette of the other one. Well, he wasn't going down without a fight.

They were into the battle, his ship had sustained some damage, but so far holding his own though not for long, when he heard additional cannon fire. Screaming to his first mate, he wanted to know what the hell was going on. The mate yelled back that there was a third ship, but that it was firing on the pirates. Jon couldn't think of one person around that would help, but he was glad of it.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the two pirate ships left, probably thinking the odds not in their favor. He watched as the other ship approached. He wanted to meet the captain and express his appreciation. As the ship got closer, he noticed something odd about the colors they flew. The flag had two swords crossed with the silhouette of a face, but the unusual part was it was a female with flowing hair.

Jon waited on the deck, while his first mate saw to the welfare of his crew and ship. A couple of his crew threw a rope ladder over the side so the captain and mates of the other ship could come aboard. He saw a dark headed man come up over the railing, straighten up and walk towards him. Jon thought, even though he was tall, dark and had a forbidding look to him, he was a bit young to be captain of his own ship, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Jon walked forward to shake the man's hand.

"My name is Captain Jon. I want to thank you for helping us out."

Colin, trying to hold in his laughter, said with all seriousness, "Glad to meet you Captain Jon. You're welcome, but my name is Colin. I am the first mate." pausing, making sure he had Jon's attention before turning towards the railing. "That is my Captain." Colin looked at Jon to see his reaction to see the Captain, a female captain.

Same as always, Colin thought, smiling to himself, he saw Jon's jaw drop, his eyes widening in disbelief, that there was a female aboard ship, let alone a female captain. There were a few female pirates but not many in these days. It was considered bad luck to have a female aboard ship.

Jon watched, standing there in disbelief, as the most gorgeous woman walked towards him. She was almost as tall as him, walking with confidence, looking him in the eye. He liked that. Most women of his acquaintance too subservient, no fire. He knew he had met his match.

Colin said, "Captain Jon, allow me to introduce my captain, Captain Caitlyn, of the Dark Angel."

Caitlyn looked into the eyes of her human. I missed him. It had been a long time since I had been with him. I reached out to shake his hand.

Jon gave himself a mental shake, feeling like he was coming out of a trance and shook the woman's hand. She had a strong grip, and it was calloused leading him to believe she did work on her ship, not just letting the crew do all the work. he liked that. He hated laziness.

"May I call you Caitlyn?" Jon asked.

"Certainly, Jon," I said.

"Would you care to join me in my cabin for a drink?" Jon asked, stepping aside, indicating the way with a sweep of his hand.

Looking him in the eye and said, "I would love to...Jon," and preceded him to his cabin.

Chapter 3

She was dreaming. She was standing in the shadows, having seen her parent's death. They had been killed. Tears streaming down her face, too young to help, finding out for the first time who she was. A Watcher. Their home burned. Her parents were different. Her mother, a vampire. Her father, a mortal. Villagers found out and in early England, people didn't like the unknown.

She was all alone now. An old gypsy woman found her three days later hiding in a bush near her home. The woman took her in and taught her all that she knew about herbs, healing, gypsy lore, and about her. How the old woman knew about vampire stuff, she would never know. The woman wouldn't tell her.

One of the rules she later found out, was if she fell in love she had to wait till the name of that person went full circle, no matter how many years or lifetimes. In the meantime she would watch and protect, using the time to mature and to learn to control and use her powers. And then, when the time came, she could unite with her soul mate, being released from service and be able to grow old in human years. She had a feeling this time was now.

Her dream shifted. She was in a dark hallway of the Earl's castle. She was working as a maid. She reached his room. He was waiting for her. Beautiful, tall blond. She was going to break his heart tonight. Because of her heritage and the class distinctions of the times, he needed a wife of his own class and human. She was leaving to join the sect.

His name was Sebastian, but everyone called him Seth. It was a nickname he picked up due to his younger sibling couldn't pronounce his name. Opening the door, she moved inside and closed the door. Standing there a moment looking at him...…

"Caitlyn," Seth said, hugging her, lifting her off her feet. She wrapped her arms around him and held tight. Carrying her to the bed, Seth said, "Caitlyn, I love you. I don't care about class or where you were born. I want you to marry me."

"Seth," she whispered, between kisses, "Just love me."

The night was beautiful. She carried that moment in her heart. She left when Seth fell asleep. She started her training that night. Caitlyn would occasionally check in on him without his knowledge, her heart crying to see his pain, which showed less and less through the years. He eventually married and had kids, but Caitlyn always knew he waited for her.

Seth awoke with a start, having heard the woman call his name. Looking down at her, her eyes slammed open, staring right at him, scaring the crap outta him. Her eyes were almost unholy, solid black. He blinked, looked again and they were midnight blue. He must have been mistaken. Warily, he asked, "How do you know my name?"

"What do you mean?" I asked trying to assess my situation, and trying to figure out why I was laying there in my underwear in my human's house.

"You said my name. It woke me up."

Nonchalantly I said, not looking at him in the eye and said, "It must have been something I was dreaming of. A coincidence. Where are my clothes?" I asked. I rose looking for my clothes. All I had on was a bra and tank top, and a pair of underwear. At least he didn't undress me all the way.

Seth, looking at her, noticed her bruises where lighter, commented, "You know those bruises look a lot lighter, like they are days old, not hours old."

Knowing what he was thinking, I tried to blow it off. "I heal quickly," I said slipping on my pants that I had finally located.

Seth watched as she dressed. Her pants fit like a second skin. She pulled on a black turtle neck, that really emphasized her breasts. The woman the walked over to the mirror and wrapped all that gorgeous hair back into a bun, making her look sleek and feral. Lastly she put on her trench.

Finished dressing, I reached into my coat pocket and felt the metal cross. I would give it to him as a token of my appreciation, but also for protection. I was glad he hadn't asked a lot of questions, as I was not prepared to answer yet. Outwardly I appeared calm, confidant, but inside I just wanted to throw it all away for him. But there were steps to follow. I wanted time to get to know him and vise versa.

Caitlyn walked up to Seth and said, "Seth, you said your name was Seth."

"Yes. Well actually it is Sebastian, but my baby sister had a hard time pronouncing it so it came out Seth," he replied, not knowing why he was giving a complete stranger this information. She was a stranger, wasn't she?

"Seth," I said taking his hand in mine, turning it palm up, "thank you for your help." I dropped the cross into his hand and closed his fingers over it, holding his hand a moment, looking into his eyes. It had come full circle. They were connected.

Seth all of a sudden saw his life flash before his eyes, but....not his life or was it? He saw flashes of a castle and ships. Of cowboys and families. And a woman.

Caitlyn knew what Seth was seeing. I would eventually explain it to him, but I didn't think he was ready. To help him forget for now, I leaned in and kissed him. The fire between us was warm, brilliant, and beautiful. I wanted him. Man, I gotta go. I stepped back, let go of his hand and said, "Be safe," and walked towards the door.

Seth, regaining his wits, said, "Hey will I see you again?"

Looking over my shoulder, with the warmest gaze I could muster, as I was so used to looking cold and distant, said, "Yes." and closed the door. I moved quickly out of the building and out into the night.
